Restoration

Lydia - Restoration

Physiotherapy

Physiotherapy deals with the restoration of the body’s function, which is disturbed when there are injuries and other damages to the musculoskeletal system (fractures, fractures, painful syndromes after strains, sprains, dislocations), after diseases of the central nervous system (vascular strokes, cerebral injuries, cerebral paralysis), diseases of the respiratory and cardiovascular system (post-operative conditions, chronic respiratory diseases, heart diseases), elderly people (geriatric physiotherapy).

At the Lydia Rehabilitation Centre, we set as our main goal individualized care, approaching each case holistically, addressing the cause of the problem and not just the symptom.

The physiotherapy department of the centre has personalised staff with experience and special certified training in the use of modern equipment.

G-EO SYSTEM EVOLUTION

It is the most modern robotic gait retraining system, which after America and Israel, the first of all the rehabilitation and recovery centres in Europe, was purchased by Lydia. It helps patients with various orthopaedic problems and injuries to regain their strength and improve their gait. It is designed according to motion capture data and allows the patient to regain the ability to walk in less time, compared to conventional treatment methods.

By offering a realistic simulation of a normal walking pattern, it allows the patient to regain mobility and independence in daily life. The active mode option allows the patient to begin the gait simulation by exceeding a predetermined endurance threshold. This mode encourages the patient to actively participate during the session in order to maximise the therapeutic effect. The active assistance function, detects the patient’s efforts to overcome the predetermined resistance threshold and then increases the effort at the start of the gait session. The GEO System offers the unique feature of upgraded steps, as well as the feature of partial movements that allow for isolation and the creation of a specific phase of the gait cycle.

It is the most modern isokinetic system in the world, which is aimed at both healthy and sick populations. Through this system, the range of motion of a joint and the muscular energy of the muscles around the joint are initially assessed in terms of strength, speed and endurance.

Following the above assessment, the muscles are trained (in terms of strength, speed and endurance) in complete safety, without injury. The aim of the therapy is to conduct neuromuscular evaluation, therapeutic exercise, gait training and range of motion difficulties in patients suffering from stroke, Parkinson’s disease, traumatic spinal cord injury, brain injury, etc.

World-renowned clinicians choose the BIODEX 4RPO Isokinetic System to deliver results accurately and consistently, issuing objective data that provides the best outcome and supports research and treatment.

Robotic Decompression – Spine and Neck Rehabilitation System. Its greatest advantage is its unique multi-directional capability, which allows us to position the patient’s spine in various positions.

Spinal decompression is an advanced form of traction therapy. With the help of a computer, the spine is slightly stretched helping to rehydrate the degenerated discs and relieve pressure from them. Decompression can be performed over the full range of motion (e.g. lateral flexion or rotation) allowing us to reach all sides of the discs and joints. Also, treatment can be performed in an inclined position which is useful if the patient is unable to be in a horizontal position. These innovative techniques help to improve and rehabilitate discopathy.

Doctors and therapists have adopted this new and improved technology and describe its results as the most significant in non-surgical spinal treatment.

ANYMOV is a robotic bed for motor and functional rehabilitation.

Thanks to its 13 electronically controlled motors,
is the first robotic rehabilitation system used for intensive and targeted treatment of patients with severe and milder conditions. The patient can be treated with repetitive, homogeneous and precise treatment throughout the entire rehabilitation process and be able to quantify the functional results obtained.

ANYMOV is the only robotic system that is suitable for patients who are bedridden and have minimal consciousness.

It is highly recommended for ongoing rehabilitation treatments, contributing to the recovery of orthostatic and functional movement, such as nervous system disorders (after stroke, severe brain injuries, Alzheimer’s disease, etc.). It is indicated for long-term hospitalized patients with different types of deficits and helps to prevent many secondary complications resulting from immobility, such as ligament retraction, bedsores, respiratory diseases and deep vein thromboses.

Η ANYMOV’s innovative technology, with the most appropriate therapeutic options, aims to real improvement in the patient’s condition. Thanks to the database available in the its information control system, the therapeutic profile can be stored, reused and easily modified by the operator according to the improvement and evolution of the patient.

It is the revolution in the treatment of a number of conditions such as calcifying tendonitis, heel spur, etc. where, in addition to spectacular results, the patient’s recovery is rapid with a smaller number of sessions.

But the biggest advantage of this innovative ultrasound-based percussive ultrasound treatment based on the method of lithotripsy is that it offers permanent results.

FIELDS OF APPLICATION

The success of the treatment has been confirmed by clinical studies for the following indications:

  • heel spur (plantar fasciitis)
  • tennis elbow (Epicondylitis of the elbow)
  • shoulder pain (Calcific tendinitis of the supraspinatus tendon)
  • tendinitis of the Achilles tendon
  • shin splints syndrome
  • lagoonal band syndrome (often mistakenly referred to as trochanteric bursitis)
  • syndrome of the top of the kneecap – tendonitis

The measurements obtained from the use of the electronic palmatograph are accurate, direct, repeatable and show the patient’s orthostatic and functional (static and dynamic) condition. The Balance System through the performance of special tests, a systemic recording of the patient’s balance ability is made and based on the results obtained, the appropriate patient rehabilitation protocols are selected.

A pioneering Hyperthermia device that combines 433.92 MHz electromagnetic waves for the deep application of heat to the tissues with a special circuit that maintains a constant surface temperature of the treated area. Thanks to the special water circulation system and temperature sensor and the complex algorithms integrated in the device’s software, it is possible to precisely regulate the temperature and depth of penetration. All treatment parameters are selected automatically through the protocols available in the device, while a control system continuously adjusts the power of the emitted radiation to ensure a constant distribution of heat.
