Nutrition at the Lydia Rehabilitation Center plays a key role in the immediate rehabilitation and recovery of our patients and aims to meet their energy and nutritional needs.
The diet plan is based on the Mediterranean diet model and is characterized by variety and balance of nutrients.
The nutrition program of each patient is individual, depending on the nutritional needs, pathogenesis and nutritional peculiarities of the patient. Indicatively, we cover the nutrition of patients with diabetes mellitus, hypertension, heart disease, renal failure, people with malnutrition problems, obesity and patients requiring enteral and parenteral feeding.
Based on the progress of our patients’ health, their dietary program is readjusted and redesigned, where necessary. Meals are prepared daily in the modern facilities of our center, by experienced staff, choosing with great care fresh and pure seasonal ingredients, so that we have a nutritious, tasty result and meet the high goals we have set.
Nutrition is key to restoring health. At Lydia, we start with an initial assessment of each patient’s nutritional history and continue with the establishment of specific goals in collaboration with the Physiatrist, Nutritionist and the patient and/or family members. The diet is adapted to the therapeutic process and interventions and adjustments are made when appropriate.
The meals provided are produced and distributed by the food service structure of the centre.
